Reminds me of an old SNL skit for a package delivery service that was able to send the packages back in time. The tag line was something like “When you absolutely need it there last week.”

just say you can do it and then when you can’t blame the supply chain…

You mean you haven’t received it yet? i sent that to you three weeks ago. Tell you what, it’s going to take me a day or so to find it, then I’ll tweak it for the changes you requested next week and I’ll have the revised edition to you on Wednesday.

Hey, if he is willing to pay, do the job and back date it. If it was important then it must be really important now.

Unfortunately, they don’t usually tell you about the impossible deadline until the third visit … after you’ve spent the advance.

They planned it so they can deduct a late delivery penalty your fee, which they won’t pay for at least 120 days, if ever.

You really don’t know how to negotiate do you. Counter offer with an unrealistic timeline and go from there, ESPECIALLY if the money is that good…..

Just enter the Time Tunnel and be sent back three weeks.

I dunno…. for THAT much money, I’d have attempted it.

That was how every project was assigned to us in the Government. We’re giving it to you this week, we may or may not fund it (including your time to design it), and the construction of the project needs to be done 2 years ago. And we’ll only pay what it cost to do a similar project 10 years ago…

I did not know Adam worked in software!
