Next door neighbor comes out every morning and lights up, even though he coughs up half his lungs before striking the match!!!!

When they pry it from my cold dead….

I must say, these two look pretty spry for 30 year old “lifetime” smokers.

…and to think the tobacco industry puts in “addictive stuff” in their tobacco….then its down Tobbaco Road….

Is that an oxygen machine? How does he light his cigar without a lot of…ummm…fanfare.

In memoriam.

A friend of mine, who was a lifetime smoker, was dying of lung cancer. When I visited him in the hospital I met his wife. She was outside having a smoke. That’s when I realized how hard it is to quit.

Too soon. My big brother died yesterday morning from lung cancer.

When I was about 13, (around 55 years ago) my Dad was in the hospital again. His surgeon came in and chewed Dad out about his smoking. Then the surgeon reached into the side table got Dad’s cigarettes out, lit one for him and one for Dad. Dad outlived the surgeon. A little different now-a-days.

Looks like it will be conclusive quite presently.

Well, at least they’re out in the fresh air. :)

I worked with a woman who left the building frequently to smoke. Upon returning one day she said “they’ll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands”. It didn’t work out that way for her though. She dropped by to visit some months after she’d left the company and she was pulling an oxygen tank on wheels behind her. People who smoke and think they’ll just keel over at some point are kidding themselves. There’s sickness and suffering long before the end.

That’s like saying there’s no conclusive evidence that a demmy government will bankrupt the country, threaten world peace and destroy Americans’ will and morale
