The Bernie Madoff Story….

The TV station where I worked years ago threw away a ton of $$ one time by hiring a consulting firm. I had a quote taped up in the window of the audio booth in Studio Control. “A consultant is someone who takes your watch away to tell you what time it is.” When I got to work one afternoon, a co-worker laughingly told me he’d noticed one of the consultants snooping around in Studio Control earlier that day, and the guy turned up his nose when he saw it. :-)

I’ve had to hire a few consultants to convince my boss that I was right. Couldn’t convince the boss so he told me to hire a consultant. Consultant would come in and I’d show him around and explain the problem. Then I’d show him the work that I had done and the conclusion I’d come up with. $20,000 or $30,000 later he came to the same conclusion.

Sounds like “Truth in Advertising.”

Secretaries know all the secrets and cover ups. And, like cats, they keep it – and their jobs – to themselves.

Sounds like an attempt at a preemptive defense to me – “Of course they knew what was going on when they handed over their money. It’s right in the name, Your Honor!”

Decades ago, when I took the lead of a group of young women who distributed a list of harrassments along with the coffee to a managers’ meeting, guess who the managers decided would be the first in the new “Employee of the Month” program? THEN, my oblivious boss asked me to write the text for the little blurb that would go along with it. I wrote it alright. When he read it he sighed and said, “OK, I’ll write it.” That was the first and last EoM at that place. What a bunch of saltines!

He looks like a consultant. Balding, looks like he thinks a lot. A bit paunchy, looks like he does well enough to eat richer food. All he needs now is hæmorrhoids to show that he is not a perfect a$$hole.

It isn’t rebranding; it’s full disclosure or transparency. Rebranding would be if he actually added value to the services he provided. I’m not against anyone making a profit. But what a certain pharma bro did is beyond the pale. It used to be illegal. Now it’s celebrated.

Acronym: ARG GORG. Catchy!
