I remember trying to learn chromatic scales on the clarinet. I can only imagine how they would sound on a violin.

When I had to practice on my violin, the folks went outside to work on the yard or just relax on the patio.

I hated the violin. But I was sick and home from school the day the instruments were handed out, so I was stuck with it.

That is true. You never outgrow practicing your scales and it’s never fun to listen to (even though there are ways to make it fun actually doing).

A half hour a day and an hour a day two years from now? She’s going to get really good.

My son plays cello and piano for 20 years now. Scales take about 30 seconds, always have.

My baby sister took violin lessons for a few years when we were kids; it was far worse than when my son was learning drums!
