Luddie thought chickens were found only in cans of cat food.

I have Guinea hens with my chickens and they have been known to chase away a bobcat.

Predator overload!

Ludwig needs a move to the country.

Long arc to get to today’s strip. Had to have planned this one out YEARS ago. ;-)

He swiped and got a picture of the neighbor’s big dog…

My son’s in-laws had a black chicken a hen which laid eggs but it had spurs like a rooster, and was very aggressive. It laid in wait to attack their pet Yorkie. Then the chase was on! A sight to behold! The bird cackled and the Yorkie whined through the whole ordeal.

Ludwig said, nah, those things will never replace cat videos.

He cannot un-see this.

And Luddie is thinking how good they must taste…

Now you’ve made him jealous.

Been enjoying this storyline arc, watching Arlo as a grandpa, Janis as a wise mother-in-law bonding. It’s a nice break.
