So far as I can tell, the matures ones have done the gentlemanly thing. Both of them.

“Mr.” Status shows his blatant disrespect for a TRUE war hero and one of the few Republicans who actually tried to do the right thing for the people. I would say that “Mr.” Stantis should be ashamed of himself but he does not have that capability!

By today standards, even Abraham Lincoln would be considered a RINO, by the Qpids!!!

I very rarely agreed with Bob Dole and never voted for him. I never suspected that he represented a species rapidly approaching extinction: the principled conservative who respected law, the Constitution, and democracy.

I have to agree here. The current GOP has been destroying and disrespecting the work of the once-normal GOP of the past. They are simply defiling the graves of all who went before them.

Dole voted for Trump in 2016 and later attended the inauguration. However, last July he said, “He lost the election, and I regret that he did, but they did…He had Rudy Giuliani running all over the country, claiming fraud. He never had one bit of fraud in all those lawsuits he filed and statements he made.” And later, at two points in the same conversation, “I’m a Trumper…I’m sort of Trumped out, though.” Trump praised Dole after his passing, referring to him a great war hero, unlike, of course, how he treated John McCain.

Been doing that to the living and dead true republicans for some time. A dying brand if there ever was one.

With a heartfelt thank you for his service…may he rest in peace.

It’s an odd backward salute to Bob Dole#, a genuine old school conservative GOP guy, but it was a poke at the lackeys and the spineless who now have a following in their controlling GOPQ positions.

#Any WW II vet (+/- 16M), especially those who were in combat (about 1M of them) have my respect despite their choice of a legitimate political party and allegiance to a duly elected individual. Meaning that the individual is not trying to nullify an election and/or overthrow our Democracy.

The kids got no respect for the law today…

The republican troll party is full of disgusting traitors to American democracy now.

Dole grew up near where my grandparents farmed. I had the honor to meet and speak with him when he came to our town for a speech years back. As fellow Kansas boys, as we talked, I was very impressed with his calm but unifying sense for people. I enjoyed our visit, although brief, and he was truly one of the greats.

One of the few Republicans I truly admired. John McCain was the other!

I don’t know of any Republicans or those on the right disrespecting Bob Dole anywhere close to how is it’s portrayed in this toon. Certainly nothing on FOX although some of the other left leaning outlets have been unkind in a few cases. Stantis is way off base here.

This Cartoon leaves me speechless. I am a proud Democrat. I have met Senator Dole many times. He was a very kind person. A man of true values. And he came from a time when Democrats and Republicans tussled with each other on the Senate floor during the day and treated each other as human beings afterword. A true hero and statesman. Not a RINO!! And the people in the Republican party today just don’t get it. With the blocking of legislation, calling Democrats communists and terrorists. Mr Stantis should be ashamed of himself and the trashing of this great man.
