Also reminds me of this Golden Oldie: A young woman found a talking frog, who said he was a young man under a magical spell. It implored her to take him home and let him sleep on her pillow to break the spell. She took pity on him and did as he asked, and the next morning she did indeed wake up next to a very handsome young man.
To this day, her mother still isn’t buying the story of the talking frog!
