We’re already seeing it, ranging from the right wingers who are (correctly, imo†) bitchin’ and moaning about travel restrictions, to the idjits who are reiterating that since the vaccine isn’t 100% perfect it’s useless, to the ones who are pointing out that Fauci has changed his message AGAIN and that PROVES it’s all just a hoax and he’s a liar, to the ones who are complaining about the way the election was rigged… woops. That last one is still there, but it’s not (mostly) about Variant Omicron.

† My opinion, unsupported by ANY experts, is that the travel ban is purely political: The variant is already world-wide (though not predominant… yet if ever), so the fact that South Africa scientists spotted it in South Africa is evidence that they’re fast and efficient, NOT that the variant can be controlled in any way by slowing travel to or from SA.

Tried to arrange to get my covid booster shot. None of the local branches of my pharmacy have it. I would have to wait a week and drive 15 miles. I hope that situation improves.
