Years ago, one of my Sister’s-In-Law ran across a fruit cake recipe that she wanted to try out.
The recipe started out almost 6 months ahead with dried fruit which the recipe said to soak in Brandy for several months. So, She got a large plastic container, filled it with dried fruit and poured a bottle of brandy over it.
Then, she shoved it into the back of the refrigerator to soak up the brandy and wait for the Christmas season to roll around. A week before Christmas, she pulled the container out of the refrigerator and opened it to find a couple scrappy looking pieces of fruit in about a tablespoon of Brandy.

I tried the standard permutations. Then, going out of the box, went with Oeuf Gateau.

Somehow, she never did get that Fruitcake baked.

They’re lucky they’re not talking to Cliff. His reply would have been, “I’d rather not . . . I don’t like to name my snacks.”
