I just hope they get home and don’t find a hot tub full of Gus soup.

I believe in their world this is still Thanksgiving evening. If I have the days right they had dinner with Gus, dropped him off at the guest house, then drove a couple hours to stay with the folks. They still have tomorrow to prepare for The Game on Saturday.

It may be 9 pm, but it’s been dark for 4 hours.

they are used to going to bed early…they’re farmer – ristorantes.

I have to stay up til 11 pm to take bp medicine…by then I’m like a Zombie.

What, you thought they were going to bed to sleep?

They’re Farm & Restaurant folk! They are used to going to sleep at an early hour because they’re up at DARK :30! Not Night Owls, but Dawn Owls… Eating brunch when the most of the rest of the country is having breakfast.

Husbands should not speak for their wives like that. Looks like she was enjoying the beginning of her talk with her MIL and starting to relax. Mary Lou rarely has another woman to speak to let alone have conversation with. After a fight, let your wife reset herself and come to you. Or ask and see if she’s ready while being willing to accept that she might want more time. And why couldn’t Arlo say, “Let’s all relax tonight. We’ll make sure we have plenty of time for socializing tomorrow.” rather than tell Janis her feelings are wrong or misplaced? But really, one man decides he wants attention, right now, and no one else’s feelings or needs matter? The women only started talking. There’s no harm, only benefit, to letting them talk. Come back and ask in an hour or so. Now the women will need to restart that whole engaging phase again tomorrow and both women feel like they didn’t get to do what they want when within an hour or two everyone would have had their needs met and been happy.

Thanksgiving in Canada is toward the middle of October. I know these are reruns, but I’m not sure this strip is that far behind.

It’s not like back in the days before FB, Skype, Zoom, in text text, immediate phone.contact. When out state family, friends visited and there was a lot to catch up on.

they probably rise early in the morning to get their many chores done that have have when they are home so they wold be tired and ready to go to bed.
