Since Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan (like the BIPARTISAN physical infrastructure bill that passed with 19 Senate REPUBLICAN votes [including Mitch McConnell] and 13 House votes) is FULLY PAID for with NO TAX INCREASES for anyone making less than $400,000 a year, and funding to increase tax audits ON THE RICH, it is obvious that Ramirez thinks everyone is rich and that is the only constituency he is interested in.Amazing how the same hypocritical elitists who support every effort to ADD SEVEN TRILLION DOLLARS to the national debt with corporate welfare and tax giveaways to the few richest elites, with almost nothing for the middle class (except a load of debt), NONE OF WHICH WAS PAID FOR, whine and cry and obstruct any effort to enact legislation that costs only $1.2 trillion OVER A TEN YEAR PERIOD, ALL OF WHICH IS INDEED FULLY PAID FOR.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) scored the legislation and estimated officially that it would have a net cost of $360 billion OVER TEN YEARS, but with the note that they could not estimate the net gains from increased IRS tax enforcement on those at the top, for which they could only validate enough to bring the net cost down to $160 billion OVER TEN YEARS, and that it likely would actually pay for itself.
The Treasury Department, with official calculations from the collection experts at its IRS, did confirm that their calculations showed that the increased collections would MORE THAN OFFSET the shortfall in the “official” CBO estimate.
We all understand TANSTAAFL. But we all understand two other things that right wing empty-bubble spokes critters always ignore when the Democrats are in charge:
1: If you invest in something that returns value … then the actual cost is less than the full cost. In fact, capitalists bet that it will return so much that the cost is negative.
2: If everybody pays their fair share then your lunch won’t cost anywhere near as much as it would if you are buying your own lunch and the lunch for the obscenely rich.
The GQP wants everyone that thinks they are over taxed to be upset that the tax cheats may have to pay more. After all, national debt and taxes being too high on the people is a rallying cry come election time. (at least when the Dems are in) The GQP is very pro tax cheat, it’s the ’Mericun way!
I wish they had a way to track each president deficit spending for only the stuff they caused, while show the long term cost of the previous presidents programs.
Unbelievable. The stupid comments above are beyond the pale. What do you think happens when companies are forced to now pay even higher taxes than they already do? They pass the cost along so get ready to take it up the a_ s, thanks to the Bernie Sanders communist plan.
Republicans have consistently cut the IRS budget, the only government agency that brings in more than they spend. And that additional money comes from people like Trump, not ordinary working Americans.
Currently it takes the IRS about 60 days just to open a letter/fax, then another 90 days to process it. Calling? If you are on hold for < 90 minutes it is your lucky day, most get disconnected after 2 hours, the hold music will put an insomniac to sleep.
Free Stuff, like F-35s, the Gerald Ford, the Zumwalt, Littoral Combat Ships, the “Sergeant York,” the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle, et myriad cetera.
Oh, and then there were the F-22’s left behind at Tyndall AFB as Hurricane Michael came onshore in 2018; they were all inoperational.

Ramirez, like all Trump Disciples, is really upset that Billionaires may have to pay taxes.
And, of course, he HATES that it is an accomplishment for Biden.

Don’t worry. Come next election, Trump will stop all the “free stuff” to you, and take it all himself.

Just as Reagan proved “deficits don’t matter”, Trump proved “paying taxes is for losers”. I guess Bush proved “fool me twice, shame on me”.
