Teddy has not been to his nearest BJ’s,Costco and/or Sam’sClub lately, has he???? Plenty of STUFF there!! And while the manned registers might be “sparsely” maned, the self-checkouts are always busy!!
Why are people moaning about the cost of anything in the grocery stores? Safeway has (for example) been playing the ‘member cost’ game over their inflated nonmember prices forever all of which should have given the shopper a clue what was coming. You see that inflated price long enough and you begin to believe it’s real.

Daniel Boffey
A first case in Europe of the new variant of Covid-19 has been identified in Belgium in an unvaccinated young adult woman who developed mild flu-like symptoms 11 days after travelling to Egypt via Turkey.
The patient did not report any links with South Africa or other countries in southern Africa. None of her family members have developed symptoms. The patient was said to have a high viral load at the time of diagnosis by researchers at the universities, KU Leuven and UZ Leuven.
Gotta love that inflation. the turkey I picket up last week at the commissary cost all of $0.48/lb and a total of under $6. It was the smallest one I could find in a case jammed full of turkeys and it came out deeeelicious.
Automation. It advances society in the long run. But because we don’t have a national human resources development strategy and system, people get burned by these changes.
Better to keep yourself current in the fields that are needed.

Yeah. I’ve had to serve myself a few times over the last 6 months or so, when it’s feasible to do that.
And despite the temptation, I’m NOT going to start checking myself out when there ARE cashiers available, even behind a longish line.

That hasn’t been my recent experience at stores.

When did Rall become a Republican cartoonist? This is something I’d expect out of Lisa Benson.

Well, every market I went to had a ton of turkeys. Yesterday I went to TWO homes to eat and had turkey both times. I must live in some paradise.

I only us self-checkout, after the third time having to tell the checkout person that I didn’t want my bread in the same bag as my milk.

Whole Foods was packed yesterday. No shortages there.

Ironically, food shortages always seem to be in Marxist Disciple Democrat ran cities where crime is rather abundant.

This authors outlook on life always reminds me of A.A. Milne’s Eeore.Might as well rename it “The anhedonic thought for the day.” or some such.
