Amazing how the same hypocritical elitists who support every effort to ADD SEVEN TRILLION DOLLARS to the national debt with corporate welfare and tax giveaways to the few richest elites, with almost nothing for the middle class (except a load of debt), NONE OF WHICH WAS PAID FOR, whine and cry and obstruct any effort to enact legislation that costs only $1.2 trillion OVER A TEN YEAR PERIOD, ALL OF WHICH IS PAID FOR.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) scored the legislation and estimated officially that it would have a net cost of $180 billion OVER TEN YEARS, but with the note that they could not estimate the net gains from increased IRS tax enforcement on those at the top, and that it likely would actually pay for itself. The Treasury Department, with official calculations from the collection experts at the IRS, did confirm that their calculations showed that the increased collections would MORE THAN OFFSET the shortfall in the “official” CBO estimate.

Oh, and by the way, Biden is now on pace to REDUCE THE RECORD BUDGET DEFICIT HE INHERITED FROM TRUMP by $360 billion this year.

Reminder: NO REPUBLICAN in the last 60 years (none since liberal Eisenhower) has ever reduced an annual budget deficit from one year to the next. Three Democrats in the same period have achieved that: LBJ, Clinton (who did it every year) and Obama (who did it in last SEVEN YEARS of office). LBJ and Clinton got all the way to eliminating the deficit and running a budget surplus. Biden is on pace to become the fourth Democrat since 1960 to reduce an annual budget deficit.

Kevin McCarthy’s stunt backfired — he gave Dems a bigger win in broad daylight

“I don’t know that this speech is going to make a difference,” McCarthy said just after 3 a.m., The Washington Post reported.

The speech did not make a difference in blocking the bill, which passed 220-213 on Friday morning, but it may have given President Joe Biden a bigger political win, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported.

“I think one thing we should note is that this is a bill that the White House was expecting would pass the House last night,” Collins noted. “They thought this bill was going to pass about twelve hours ago, but then of course, Kevin McCarthy delivered that 8 1/2-hour speech. And so, actually, instead of this bill passing late at night, of course, when not a lot of people are paying attention, it’s passing at 10:00 in the morning,” Collins noted.

Now we will see him on camera before he leaves the White House for his own thanksgiving vacation to talk about this and to tout this, because — yes, they still have a very long road to go, we don’t know what this bill will look like when it gets to the Senate — but this is a big step for the White House, months in the making.
