The least of what I’d want is a doctor who has a sackful of dad jokes when I’m in pain!

I love it when a certified chiropractor has to ask the new patient, what seems to be the trouble? Well, doctor I’ve got this terrible stomach ache, and diarrhea. Can you help me? Sure I can, just let me pull on your neck and stretch your throat and you’ll feel the built up pressure relieve itself.

While he fixes your back, the receptionist will be racking up your bill.

I went to a chiropractor for years with little to no help. I tried a physiotherapist and within a month my problem was solved and I was educated about how to keep the problem from recurring. :D

It looks like the doc has already prepared the bill before he even says anything useful. Besides, he has no feeling for his patients. Maybe he missed his calling and should’ve become a stand-up comic.

Chiropractor, Shmiropractor. If it’s a muscle, manipulating bones isn’t going to change anything today. Take some ibuprofen and keep moving.

In Canada, Chiropractors are licensed “doctors of chiropractic”. They have a MINIMUM of 7 years post secondary education. There’s even a “College Of Chiropractors Of Ontario” for Lynn Lake and the rest of Ontario.

What he states makes sense. For me when I was stepping on a workforce bus like a motor home, I had the worst pain spasm pain, finally went to Dr. he said I sprang my back, he gave a muscle relaxer, and it relaxed all of me.

    DEAR DR. PATTERSON:

Next time you suffer a major muscle spasm in your back, shoulder, or neck, simply take 600-800 mg. of ibuprofen, lie down on the couch, and immerse yourself in a good book for three or four hours. Works for me!

If that chiropractor took a look at my back X-rays and CT scans and told me what he told John, I’d be out the door before he could put his clipboard down.

Interesting that when I daily, for eight or so hours, sat relatively straight at an office desk, I had occasional back muscle pulls, with accompanying pain, sometimes lasting as long as a week and needing prescription pain meds. Now I slouch and recline at my desk and computer at home, and now otherwise have more bend-over activities, but have not had a back issue…none in the past several years.

No one could ever put this man “straight.” Plus the back is not a firm solid straight vertical part of the body.

You need a physical therapist or a real doctor who will probably refer you to the PT. And get a real massage therapist while you are at it, not one who will charge extra for a happy ending.

20 some years ago back started hurting. Bad office chair position, I think, not my golf which I’d stopped temporarily because of tendinitis in the shoulder (fixed a year later by acromioplasty.)Saw a neighboring rheumatologist who blithely saw oh you do have a stiff muscle there let me massage that. Over the next 9 months it got progressively worse despite the massaging and even cortisone injections until I ended up not being able to walk comfortably except on all fours when my regular GP told me to go and see a real back man; who operated asap and said that95% of my disc had herniated. Not a twinge since!

Since my own back is hurting today, and I’m a retired IT worker, I suggest an IT solution: IT workers only need two tools, one of which is a screwdriver. Since the screwdriver obviously will not do the job, I’ll use the other one, a crowbar. On the chiropractor, not the dentist.
