I read library books on my kindle and I can see the cover. I have it set to open the book on the first page of the actual story, but all I have to do is “flip” backwards to see the table of contents, copyright page, cover, etc. Or I can go into the digital table of contents and jump right to it. Perhaps he just doesn’t really know how to use his e-reader?
The books I download to read from MY websites (Usenet) all seem to have covers on them – what’s HE talking about?
I refuse to waste my time and money with “e-Readers” – all my reading is done on my laptop. using a “free” “epub” reader.
(Oh, and before you accuse ME of “stealing” books, ask your local library if they “bought” every book on THEIR shelves – the answer will more than likely be “No” – some will more than likely have been “donated” by their patrons. So, if I’M stealing then so are they – my “library” just exists in the “cloud”, that’s all!)

Seeing what books people read was one of the few pleasures of riding on the subway. I actually got some ideas of what to read that way.

But Mort! haven’t you heard? Never judge a book by its cover.

I heard that bodice-ripper romance novels enjoyed a surge in sales, due to the advent of e-readers

My E-Books contain covers.
I’m not sure whose E-Book service Mort has been using.
