You get to eat more french fries as a gull then you do as a flounder.

Dad’s usually pretty smart. I’m guessing he’s pulling one over on Wallace.

“Talk to your mom. She’s the mermaid in the family. Ask her if flounders beat seagulls.”

I completely agree with everything he said. . . eh, what was that again?

The seagull would be much better at this stuff.

And the boats name is “the Narwhal”, and the seagull is only missing it the first frame, what a deal. :-)

When Wallace’s dad was a kid, he was a lot more gullible..

I got a chuckle from the seagull leaning on the side of the boat in panel 2, also giving Dad the stink eye in panel 7.

My father’s fishing boat advice was “Never eat bait.” You may think it was an allegory for preparing for the future, but in reality he just did not like calamari.

Flounders in the night. One-sided glances. . .

We need to have that on a tshirt. “Never be the gulll”.

I’m not a gull, but I’m gullible!

Gull, definitely. Adapts to various environments (rockbound coast, supermarket parking lot, etc.) ; has access to French fries, potato chips, even whole bags of potato chips in summer; can soar on the wind or flap steadily as conditions require.

Sad that those pearls of wisdom were lost as those cast before swine…..
