There’s a meme out there that goes something like: “How to reset your clocks for the Fall Back idocy:”

Phones, computers, tablets, smart watches: Leave them alone, they’ll do it by magic

Devices with digital clocks: It’s possible if you still have the manual. If not, be prepared to buy a new one. Even though you think you want a hammer, don’t do it!

Manual clocks: Move the minute hand gently one time around.

Clock in your car: Wait about 6 months and it’ll be correct again.

I wonder if Rat still owns a VCR. Anyone remember setting those things’ clocks being a pain in the neck? Even when they blinked either 00:00 or 12:00.

I actually have an old fashioned clock on my wall that I haven’t changed in years. Now it’s showing the correct time again, yay.

The car was the easiest, the ‘Settings’ on the display screen. My microwave and stove, not hard. My bedside alarm is atomic , adjusts automatically as does my phone and tablet/ laptop.

I’m holding off on my wristwatch as I have to get online instructions.

Yesterday there was a Mercedes owner who tried to reset the clock in the car which has to be done through the computer “command center” on the dash board and ended up clearing all of the preset channels on the AM, FM and SiriusXM satellite radio, Told to me by a friend.

My microwave has no clock and I don’t care what the stove says. The car is connected to something in outer space that sets it. I have 3 clocks that need setting. Just move the hands on two of them and mode switch on the other.

There’s no law that states you have to change everything. The microwave will work fine with an incorrect time. Same for the stove and car.

It used to be that part of Indiana was on Eastern time and part on Central. We live in Ohio, and one time on a trip we stopped at a restaurant in Indianapolis not too longer after the time change, and I asked the waitress what time it was. When she answered, I couldn’t restrain myself, and asked her “Is that Central Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings?” She wanted to clobber me, but fortunately wanted to keep her job even more.

I have my own semi-relevant rant about the DST/ST switch – why do some people still tell you to use the switches as a reminder to change your smoke/carbon monoxide detector batteries? That was good advice back when the two time periods were about six months each, but now that Daylight Saving Time is almost twice as long as Standard Time here in the U.S. (almost eight months from mid-March to early November) the periods are imbalanced.

Good cause to LEAVE it at daylight savings time year round! We voted to in Oregon but they’re waiting for CA & WA to do it too. Why wait? Not like we aren’t different from other states’ time!

LOL this never gets old. It is a testament to the low priority changing this holds that bill after bill is introduced at both federal and state levels (2 bills and 3 joint resolutions here in Texas alone) but never get passed.

My coffee maker is showing the time since I first plugged it in and pushed “on” to brew a pot of coffee. I don’t need coffee that wakes up before I do, so I don’t need a coffee maker to know what time it is.

it was weird. I have a 2012 Mazda 3.. I have 2 clocks in it, thanks to a new stereo.. the clock built into the car, last night was the first time I’d had a problem with it.. it has manual buttons just below the Hazard lights flasher (which I use all the time doing Uber) .. somehow the buttons got stuck or something, but I look up and it’s a half hour off… then several minutes ahead.. several times in a row

Rat could just keep two sets of Microwaves and coffee makers – one for DST and one for standard time. Two cars or two stoves may be a bit much though.
