Some people are amazed at reports of UFOs. That shouldn’t be the case. Since the advent of powered flight around 1900, they’ve become increasingly common. Test this for yourself. Head outside just about any clear night and look up.

     (1) Do you see any lights? Objects!

     (2) Are some of them moving? Flying objects!

     (3) Do you know what they are? No? Unidentified flying objects!

But what are they, really? See Point 3. For assistance, Google “unidentified”.

Maybe it’s an issue of the education system that so many flying objects are unidentified there?

It’s because each time someone else sees something bizarre in the sky, they simply think, “oh, those bloody Americans/Brits”, and move on. Until recently, that is. Now they think “oh, those bloody Americans/Brit drones” and seek shelter.

The number of pictures of UFOs taken seems to be inversely proportional to the number of cameras available.

I’m not really aware of people claiming to see UFOs here in Tasmania, although the map indicates it’s mostly in the North which might explain it. We’re more likely to have reports of Thylacines.

I’m from NJ, USA. About 50 years ago, I saw some lights flashing and zooming through a clear night sky that to this day I have no explanation for. Very cool.

UFO reports have, like Sasquatch, gone done significantly in the age of cell phones. The cameras are too sharp and too accurate, so the classic “fuzzy photo” of the flying saucer or Bigfoot that made the viral rounds among the underground (where its fuzziness was accentuated by being reproduced in cheap newsprint or low-res xerox printing) isn’t a thing anymore.

Thus why the conspiracy nuts are all about alien visitors in the past (we’re back to aliens made the pyramids again) rather than anything in the skies now. Harder to disprove, easier to mesh in with other conspiracies.

There are some Americans who believe the U.S. exists in its own little special world. Issues like climate change or COVID-19 either don’t exist or are other countries’ problems. There is this patronizing notion that the “American way” is the only correct way; everything else is inferior.

Where I live there are actual people that form actual clubs to “research” paranormal subjects like Bigfoot. Despite the fact that during deer season in December the entirety of every bit of wooded landscape is crawling with heavily armed “sportsmen” that for the last 200 years have never shot a Bigfoot.

As far as Bigfoot goes with all the Hi-Rez game cameras out there I think that someone would have a good shot of Bigfoot picking it’s nose or scratching it’s ass by now , as far as Aliens go how could you tell with all the strange " styles " out there !!

While I hope there is confirmation of life beyond Earth in my lifetime (it could be as simple as something very tiny swimming or crawling around on another planet), it would be best if any traveling aliens avoid us entirely as we would handle it very poorly.

I am reading this today in the town of Lincoln, NH which is near where Betty and Barney Hill were reportedly abducted just over sixty years ago. The state has even put up an historical marker noting the location of the first approach.

I suggest that many parts of the world don’t report UFO sightings because they don’t recognize them as extra-terrestrial intelligences, but rather as divinities visiting as they’re often thought to do.

A recently published Doonesbury (11/21/21) cartoon contained a map of the world that showed where UFO sittings have been reported by local residents. Virtually all of those sites are in the U.S., to the exclusion of the rest of our planet except for the United Kingdom.“Gadzooks!” I said to myself after I had digested this cosmic mystery. Then I realized that in the U.S. almost all reported UFO sightings occur in rural areas! Once again I said to myself, “Gadzooks!”Apparently, Extra Terrestrials prefer landing on lonely rural roads and cornfields in the U.S. (on Friday and Saturday nights) while eschewing the hustle and bustle of America’s big cities and suburbs. As we know, the red-blue split in the U.S. has liberals living in urban areas and conservatives dwelling in rural areas. Does this mean that ETs favor Republicans, while dismissing liberals as not even worthy of an occasional visit?

Is this map actually supposed to be for real? It’s crap! South America has had a massive number of confirmed sightings, and Chile is just one of those doing state-sanctioned UFO research.
