It’s appropriate that orange flowers surround the death count. The Orange Reaper was directly responsible for most of those deaths with his lies, incompetence, and insane politicalization of a deadly pandemic. He was, and still is, an example of humanity at it’s very worst. A malicious, narcissistic, sociopath. The really depressing thing is how many Americans worship and kiss his murderous behind.
Even though cases and deaths are dropping nationwide (I saw online a few days ago that the case rate is down 57% from peaking around Sept. 1st), the sad part is that many (if not most) of those 732,000 might have survived if Donald Trump hadn’t told the American people that Covid was a hoax (and later said that it would “magically disappear”). I can’t help but wonder what might have happened if Hillary Clinton had won the electoral (as well as the popular) vote in 2016 and was thus President instead of Trump when Covid hit the US. She might have instituted a nationwide lockdown early on (like China, South Korea, etc.) and might have encouraged Americans to mask up and social distance. She might have even heeded China’s warning back in Dec. 2019 that Covid was serious and that we needed to start preparing ASAP! But, because 49% of eligible voters chose to stay home instead of voting in 2016, we got Trump instead of Clinton. Who was it who said, “Hindsight is always 20/20”?
Latest figure over 745,000 in the U.S. You know how many have died in China from COVID? About 5,000. You can say a lot about the Chinese government but they do like to keep their people alive. See John Hopkins map
