I get that humans probably deserve to go extinct, because we’re doing this to ourselves, even tho we’re the ones who are supposed to know better, but what have dogs and cats ever done to deserve such a horrible fate?
US Coal power plants have been steadily declining, even under trump. We’re somewhere around 245-250k MW of electricity from coal powered plants. All of those plants have scrubbers and other EPA-required measures to minimize carbon and pollution – to whatever degree that can be done.
China is over 1 million MW – better than 4x the US and have little or no “cleaning” of emissions. And while our coal is going down theirs is ramping up very rapidly.
If the Manchin would work with the Green Democrats and try to get their help in helping his voters find new good paying jobs then maybe he could win. We believe our country is the greatest in the world, then lets use our brightest brains to find someway to employ this workforce. As the coal mines shut down then they still will have a future.
