Where my friend lives in Sweden, almost all electric production is either hydroelectric or from wind turbines. That “almost” is because quite a few businesses and individuals also have their own arrays of solar panels.
Unfortunately, that’s not true of all of Sweden, but it does reduce the total dependence of Sweden’s electric grid on external sources of gas, coal, etc., and it reduces the total pollution generated by the grid.
