If kids acted that way, in my family at least, they’d get some SERIOUS time out. Seems to me that “haul them downtown to think about it and sober up” would be a perfectly good system.

The fake (Koch funded?) grassroots Moms For Liberty is making it dangerous to be in opposition to the far-right way of thinking no matter how stupid. Physical violence is not off-limits any longer.

I’m glad I don’t have kids. I’m also glad Dad retired from teaching. My uncle hasn’t retired.

mxy – it’s not that free speech is dangerous. If they would just keep to the topics at hand it would be fine. But to see them yell and swear and threaten board members is where it becomes dangerous. That’s not free speech; that’s intimidation.

I’m very afraid that if the sane, pro-children’s-safety-education-science BOE candidates in my community don’t start informing/promoting who and what are most important, our BOE will be overrun by Q-tips, who are self-promoting.

Who would’ve thought the school board meeting wouldn’t have been a good place to take a nap. Now you need to wear kevlar.

English, math, science are the most important subjects in school. CRT should be left in the closet. Good jobs require good skills.

The GQP like the terror aspect for meetings in general. They learned that from Rump.

A great artist can convey more than a thousand words in a cartoon or a painting. Anyone seen the “Four Freedoms” by Norman Rockwell lately? I don’t think if he were alive today that he’d paint the insurrection at The Capitol Building on January 6th as Freedom of Speech.

Around here they’ve moved the school board meetings to the courthouse, so they can use the metal detectors to screen the people who show up…

This isn’t about free speech. This is about Q-nuts infiltrating school boards to destroy the education system. The biggest tax most people pay is property tax, and that’s levied by the school boards. Most of the time they can raise them without a vote if they keep the hike within 4%, but if they take control, they can cut taxes, hire incompetent leadership (since that’s all the revere), and pick the worst textbooks out there. And school board elections are almost always about name recognition because no one goes out of their way to vote in those elections. Making a fool of yourself spewing lies on the internet at these meetings is a great way to build name recognition. If they can’t end Democracy now, they’ll destroy it the long way by making everyone uneducated morons like KE and Ricky are on here.
