Bannon is brighter than that. I think. I have come to believe that the EXpresident has some kind of mental distortion field that lowers the effective IQ of those around him, or he’d long ago have fallen out of public view (too bad he didn’t).
AR15-worshipping MAGA group purchases holy retreat in Tennessee
The Rod of Iron Ministries purchases $460,000 property to recreate ‘Moonies’ retreat in South Korea
A pro-Trump religious sect that embraces AR15s in ceremonies has purchased a 130-acre property in Tennessee as a holy retreat and training centre.
The Rod of Iron Ministries, also known as The World of Peace and Unification Sanctuary, is run by Pastor Hyung Jin “Sean” Moon, a conspiracy theorist who proclaims that his followers are at war.
Aw, the Turd Reich Tot got his knickers all in a bunch cuz his hero who lost the election is still scamming his own cronies with delusions that he still has the ability to make an executive pardon (he doesnt) or use executive privelge (nope on that one too), and that his “fine, good people…” so… brilliant", (cuz he’s a stable genius – the kind of stables filled with straw and horse poop) aren’t gonna roll over in a heartbeat when they wake up to the facts and realize he can’t do squat to save their butts from all the crimes they committed for the Bulbous Buttwhistle.
Brannon is an instigator! While in the WH, he set up a blackboard, listing all the deconstruction ways him and Rump would do to Americans, and America!

He’s too kind in depicting Bannon as a somewhat groomed man. He actually looks like a walking plague. A skidrow bum. His exterior reflects his rotten inside. Have read Devil’s Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and the Storming of the Presidency". The man has more than a screw loose. A very dangerous human being advising an arrogantly ignorant malignant narcissistic psychopath.
Although not traditionally done, the Select Committee can request that the DOJ issue criminal indictments against those refusing to answer their subpoenas. Perp walk time.
It’s really too bad that the Republicans didn’t take the opportunity they had to dump Trump into the garbage bin of history. The lesson, I suppose, is that there’s a deeper problem, deeper than Trump himself, which has infected the party as a whole. A mixture of stupidity, greed, and insensitivity, with a little racism added for flavor. Democracy in the US is in danger, and it’s time for responsible people to come together to defend it.
MAGA rioter ‘weeps’ in court as defense lawyer says he was a ‘victim’ of Trump’s lies
“Cody Mattice sat quietly weeping in court Tuesday, his head down, resting on the table in front of him, only lifting it to whisper to his attorney,” said the report. "The 28-year-old is accused of taking part in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. Prosecutor Brett Harvey said he has enough evidence to put him away for at least 20 years.
Mattice was arrested in Hilton, New York last week, with the help of internet sleuths who knew him as “Cody from Rochester.” He allegedly helped break down barriers at the Capitol and pepper-sprayed Capitol Police officers to allow others to break through the line.
At the center of the case are text messages that Mattice and fellow rioters sent to each other in which they confessed to committing multiple crimes during the January 6th riots.
’That’s terrifying’: Anderson Cooper shaken after hearing Harvard scholars’ ‘dark’ predictions on US democracy
“It is pretty dark,” said Levitsky. “When we wrote How Democracies Die four years ago, we were worried about the Republican Party because they allowed Donald Trump to be elected. They sort of dropped the ball and failed to protect our democracy from an authoritarian demagogue. But we did not expect that the entire Republican Party would evolve into an anti-democratic force, and that’s where they are today.”
Capitol rioter’s hearing ends in disaster after blowing off judge’s warning to not represent himself
“You are charged with a federal felony,” McFadden said. “This is not a community college where you get pats on the back.” “You’ve admitted to incredible lapses of judgment here on the stand, not least of which was seeking to disqualify a New York state judge,” the judge continued. “You’ve admitted to obstruction of justice in that case, and you’ve admitted to what was probably obstruction in this case in trying to have me disqualified, and only Ms. Halverson’s advice stopped you from doing so. You’ve engaged in a pattern of behaviors that shows contempt for the criminal justice system, and I just have no confidence that you will follow my orders if I release you.”
“McFadden then denied Fellows’ request to reopen his detention status and ordered him back into the custody of the D.C. Jail.”
Capitol riot was ‘fomented intentionally’ by ‘psychological manipulation’ from right-wing actors: attorney
“It was, I believe, a coup attempt — fomented intentionally by right-wing actors who used data-mining and psychological manipulation,” the memo stated. “Vulnerable individuals were identified and persuaded through the internet that it was their patriotic duty to come to Washington to support Trump. In Washington they were emboldened and ushered down the avenue to ‘Stop the Steal’ and to storm’ the Capitol.”
And Dick Quest still gets his knickers twisted when somebody mentions that the pus bucket that called vets “losers” and “suckers” lost the election and a lot of his cronies are now rolling over on him about all the scams, grfiting, and sedition. Amazingly the party that turns on anybody who doesn’t goosestep in line and lick those jackboots would turn on the Bulbous Buttwhistle when they finally found out that executive priveledge and executive pardons don’t work once the Rump had been voted out of office. What a bunch of morons those Nazis are.
Hold him accountable: Coup plotter Jeffrey Clark shouldn’t just be disbarred; he belongs behind bars
“Jeff Clark was advocating for Jeff Clark becoming the acting attorney general,” Donoghue recalled. “Everyone else in the room was adamantly opposed to the president taking that step.” With Clark sitting there, “we discussed whether Jeff Clark was even qualified to serve as the acting attorney general.”
Trump, he said, “would say things like, ‘Well, what do I have to lose? What would I lose at this point if I put Jeff Clark in?’ ” Even after Trump concluded, in the final minutes of the meeting, that firing Rosen and installing Clark was “going to be a disaster,” Clark persisted, according to Donoghue.
“At that point, Jeff Clark tried to get the president to change his mind,” Donoghue said. “He kept saying, ‘Mr. President, we can do this. We can get it done. History is calling.’ Things like that.” Amazingly, Trump comes off as the more rational actor, Clark as an eager lackey who spied an otherwise unimaginable opportunity before him.
“The Committee’s report establishes an important part of the record, but not all of it. We need to know if Jeffrey Clark acted alone, as an ambitious toady seeking approval from the president, or if other forces directed his behavior—like the dark-money groups that organized the January 6 rally, or the one that instantly hired him. The Committee is still examining this question.”
Trump-loving cousins ‘clearly celebrated’ the Capitol riot – now they’re headed to prison
District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan sentenced cousins Robert Bauer, of Kentucky, and Edward Hemenway, of Virginia, to 45 days in prison and ordered them each to pay $500 in restitution and serve 60 hours of community service, reported the Courier-Journal.
The judge noted that neither man had assaulted police officers during the riot, they took photographs of themselves inside the building and “clearly celebrated” their presence there.
“There has to be consequences,” Chutkan said, “[for trying to] disrupt the peaceful transfer of power.”
