The Caliphate of Texanastan, AKA: Y’all Qaeda of Gilead — where we want FREEDOM for corporations and businesses who give our politicians ginormous campaign contributions (read: bribes), so they can run roughshod over those imaginary “rights” some Lib’ruls think workers and consumers should have, but we want to micromanage your personal life and make it as hard as possible for you to vote if you are a college student or minority.
The Caliphate of Texanastan, where Talibangelists want to make sure a complete stranger — one of the theocratic “eyes” of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel — The Handmaid’s Tale — can rape a woman in Texas and, if she gets pregnant, can sue for $10,000 plus attorneys’ fees against anyone who helps her abort the results of his crime after six weeks.
Atwood’s novel was supposed to be a warning, not a “how to” guidebook.
It’s not just a culture war. One side is also warring against blacks, Hispanics, women, LGBTQ humans, damn yankies and everyone whose income is less than in the top 5%.
A few years ago my daughter got a good tech job in Austin. When we visited her there, she expressed her desire to move. I was surprised. “But you are in one of the hippest cities in America where so many young people want to live!?”
“Yeah Dad,” she replied, “but it’s still in Texas.”
Is it too late to give Texass back to Mexico? And what is it about Abbott wanting to run for president?? OK, I know that Mexico doesn’t want it back now.
Good Ole Bill, up above, with his tiresome Culture Wars comment.
Yes Bill, we are at war with the ignorant. The hateful. The racists. The malignant tumors of our society. I do not understand how you think that this is wrong.
No one is asking you to buy anything for them, Bill. I don’t want you to buy me a car, a house, a phone, a computer or even a tattoo. All I want is for you to help pay for the roads we drive on, the schools, the Post Office, emergency services, parks, museums, the military. You know, all those things that we all own in common, as a society. There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
And if we can find ways to help those less fortunate, I think we ought to help them, too. Don’t you? Is there something wrong with helping people, Bill? Do you not like that? Does that bother you?
So, yes Bill, if your culture supports ignorance, hate, racism and is consumed with greed, consider yourself at war.
I would laugh at how some of these “people” comment, but it has ceased to be amusing and has turned frightening and incredibly sad. How can a country function when there are so many people with diagnoseable delusions? We are so fu*ked…
Businesses are going to reconsider a state where they can’t even keep the power on in the winter and children freeze to death in their own beds. Yee haw. Just say no to Texas.

Be safe rather than sorry, stay away from Tex-ass. A place where crazy-stupid is a normal lifestyle.

Come to Texas, where businesses are BOOMING (from lack of safety and health regulations).

Such a shame that Texas has crapped its own bed. It was a nice bed. Now they’re trying to crap everyone else’s.

Maybe the border wall should be a little further north, east and west of the Rio Grande like along Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas…..
