We switched from perfect families on tv to totally dysfunctional ones. Yup, later is reality, former is fantasy. Which would you rather watch? I can get reality from the news…or, at least, whatever isn’t curated.
My second wife was much older than I. We would watch “classic” movies together. I enjoyed the movies but had trouble enduring the celebrity gossip that went with them. Don’t get me started on why I would be happier not knowing “the truth” about “Loretta Young”.
And, what is she doing in her sister’s house when she’s married and living next door? Maybe rent on office space, seeing as she had to give hers up next door, but groceries? a loan? – well maybe if she didn’t want her husband to know. Weren’t these strips made after the every day ones were finished?
Joan, you could afford more than 5 minutes on the couch today if you did your work on other days. I say this as the parent of an expert procrastinator.
And were still unhappy. At one point Ricky’s widow had difficulties when her brother and sister-in-law petitioned for custody of her children. She got to keep the kids, who later when on to form the group “The Nelsons.” And that brother is in some show, NCIS or something like that. Mark might look nice, but underneath he is not a very nice guy.

Love it when you stand up to your sister. Now stand up to your oldest daughter.

How did Joan turn out so lazy and selfish? While Val turned out responsible.
