When I was 12, and almost as big as a kindergartner, I worked in a camera shop. The owner put a box behind the counter I could stand on to help a customer, but usually I used it as a step and sat on the counter. One day, I was showing a customer how to load the film in his camera. (What’s film, you ask?) I figured he did not need me to show him but just wanted some time with the little boy. Anyhow, I was sitting on the counter with the camera in my lap. The owner’s wife thought that was cute and took my picture. The owner thought that was cute and blew it up big. The photo hung with the other show-off portraits in the shop for 20 years or more.
