I chuckle only because this comic is so ridiculous.

The more “progressive” members of the House (aka the The Anti-Semitic Squat) are opposed to helping fund Israel’s Iron Dome, because…Israel.

The Iron Dome, if you’re unfamiliar, is the technology developed jointly by Israel and the US which protects Israel from Hamas/Palestinian rockets indiscriminately launched into Israel by intercepting them. Those rockets protect innocent people including women and children on the ground in Israel which includes the 250k+ Palestinians who live in Israel proper. The Iron Dome is strictly a defensive system.

While there are Arab-Israeli citizens in Israel, including many Palestinians, Jews are denied citizenship in most (if not all) Arab countries. They are not even allowed to visit many of them. Tel Aviv has a huge LGBTQ population and hosts one of the largest Pride events in the world. In most Arab countries being gay is illegal and gets you thrown off a roof. Women have equal rights in Israel, not so much in the Arab and Muslim world. But according to the progressives Israel is evil. Frequent Palestinian chant, sometimes used by members of The Squat; “From river to sea – Palestine will be free!” (Translation: Jews will be pushed from the River Jordan to the Red Sea – We will never recognize an Israeli State). Yeah, Israel are the bad guys.

How Israel was founded? The Murder of Lord Moyne? The Murder of the Sergeants ?

Besides the absurdity of the analogy, the vote was 420-9 in favor of continued funding. Talk about a nothing burger.

The House just passed, by a large majority, a $1 billion bill to fund Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. I suspect that the Squad’s resistance to placing this into an earlier funding bill was largely for show, but it was still a stupid idea.

What you think is really needed depends a LOT on who you are. Well off, suburban, probably white? You think law and order are critically important and don’t see the point in redirecting funds to organizations that give aid to the poor. Even richer? Even more so (because “the poor” aren’t even quite human to you). Live in the inner city, stepping around the homeless, unable to find work that pays enough to afford rent and food… and particularly if you’re not white? You don’t “think” or even “feel” that cops are on your side, you have EVIDENCE that they’re not. Meanwhile, who DO you call if your father/son/neighbor is having a psychotic episode?

I live outside the “urbs” entirely. From out here, it’s pretty obvious that the problem is the way our society is structured to make it HARD to be poor, and nigh IMPOSSIBLE to be poor and sick. And that the obscenely rich (as well as the deliberately blind) don’t see that as a problem AT ALL.

After another 2,000 years, they will still be killing each other off. Stark evidence of how “loving” and “forgiving” their respective gods are.

When Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt attacked Israel in 1948, they advised “Palestinians” to evacuate the area so Jews could be annihilated. They relinquished claim to the land when they did so. Let them find new homes in the aggressor countries.
