This is when you wish you still had an old fashioned phone so you could slam the receiver down.
Having been on the receiving end of both kinds of IRS contacts, I can tell you that the genuine bad news will come to you in the mail.
It is sad that so many people fall pray to these calls and these type calls are getting worse every day. I ran out of the number of call numbers I can block a year ago, now I just remove 1 old and add 1 new almost every day.
The IRS does not call you. They will send legal papers in the mail. Beware of scammers.
