Cry me a River? Same as playing the tiny violin? Or is that an upchuck as in he feels sorry for her and might not be upset?

He’s miffed! Careful Baldo, don’t rub this one in. (We could get another week out of this.) Should we know who Mary is?

Well, Estela just made a big mistake. Obviously she doesn’t really care for Baldo or she would have invited him, or at least told him about the party.

She doesn’t know that he saw the two of them and it looked like a different picture then.

Several logic holes here, not sure if Baldo will point them out or they’re going to be ignored (I suspect they’ll be ignored). But I’ll say that it looked more like a medium-sized party to me than a small one. Today it was Mary who is identified as the one who gave out invitations? If Mary was interested in Mario that loser struck out twice.

How did a party get as far as inviting Mary before Baldo? Dump her unless her Dad owns a body shop.

Regarding Mario: Did any of you other commenters know that he was Estella’s ex? I didn’t.

Many commenters thought he was older than the rest, and thereby adding another layer of “she has done wrong” by inviting him.

I didn’t think he was older. All I saw was a different body type.

I have also observed — through many relationships of others — that even generational differences in age are much less likely to cause trouble in a relationship than incompatible attitudes. (It is true, though, that generational differences in attitude often occur among those who feel a need to “follow the crowd”.)

I second that emoji on on so many fronts. However, this is something you can’t text out, you have to really TALK together. if you really want to to work this out……

Thus far, this has been a frustrating arc to watch, on par with watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Those who say what Estella did to Baldo was CRUEL, no argument there, it was. Timothy Madigan, above, said it well: If it was a girls’ only party, why were guys there; if it was a coed party, why was Baldo not there? It doesn’t make sense. Unknown is whether this is what the creative team was trying to do to us intentionally.

Nevertheless, this does not have to be the end of Baldo and Estella. But, if it is not (the end of Baldo and Estella), where does this take them? It would show a level of trust between them that has not been shown to date. To me, that would be putting Estella more „front and center“ in Baldo’s life (and the strip).

Or, it could be, Baldo is not able to process what has just happened, and this could be the beginning of Estella’s exit from the strip. It seems to come down to, where do Cantú and Castellanos want to take Baldo: Keep him at home with daddy, baby (but über-smart) sister, and the always eccentric Tante Carmen?

Or move Baldo off into his own new world, now more centered on Estella than his original family?

Now comes the hugging and the kissing to show much she is sorry for hurting Baldo. If he is smart, he will forgive her over the misunderstanding.

Why did Estella date Mario if he was a creep? She refers to him as a Boyfriend so that means a relationship. More than a couple of date.

I don’t speak emoji very well but how does “I’m so sick of spaghetti I can;t even swallow it” apply as a response to what she said?
