SKelley wouldn’t care quite so much if he knew that many of the Americans who remained behind were of Afghan, not European, descent.

Twice as many people were evacuated from Afghanistan than were evacuated from Viet Nam. People were warned many months in advance to get out if they needed to. Our country is still working to get out anyone else who wants to leave.

The longer we stayed only increased the chances more Marines would be killed. If those “left behind” are American citizens they likely will be allowed to leave; they may not be able to leave with their Afghan national second cousins.

Ironically I feel better after seeing this ’toon. The fact that, with everything going on in the world, SKelley picks this nothing burger to dwell on seems like he is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

In February 2020 tRump surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban.

No one left.

As tRump’s surrender date of May 1st approached,

No one left.

Summer came and some Americans actually sent their kids, pre-school through high school to Afghanistan on a student exchange.

No one left.

President Biden extended the exit date to August 31st and abandoned the military airport.

No one left.

The Taliban took territories and cities across Afghanistan.No one left.

As the Taliban approached Kabul,

No one left.

When the Taliban took Kabul in 11 days there was a mad rush to the airport causing chaos. Biden got control of that chaos in 48 hours. When no one thought we could get everyone out, Biden gave the order, our military went to work, and all but under 100 Americans who wanted to leave were flown out, along with some 150,000 Afghans that had supported us by August 31st. Some of those have since changed their minds, and Biden got them out as well. More to come.
