Fred, tell Mr Dear he is a human being not a human doing! And get him to scratch behind your ears while he is at it!

We’ve all been there,Fred. There’s only so many ear scratches and belly rubs a person can give a deserving dog such as yourself, and I imagine even you would get your fill. It’s hard sometimes to readjust plans when you were really set on them. Maybe he should take a nap, and hopefully he will be in a better frame of mind when he gets up.

Naturally, the cricket would be cancelled for the rain.

Turn on some ruggers! They’ll be playing in the rain and mud!

I haven’t watched cricket since Brian Statham bowled for Lancashire and Freddie Trueman bowled for Yorkshire. Living in Canada for over 50 years hasn’t helped!

How many wish these minor annoyances were our greatest worries?

“I so wanted to mow the lawn” just rings a bit hollow! ;-)
