I was thinking about a particular type of bird that makes its living by picking insects out of the bark of trees.

No Gepetto! I said knock ON wood!

Perhaps a relief though that he is not a chiseler.

My friend has a birch tree with a tumor like that. Maybe I should look at it more closely.
