I like discovering a show has a podcast and YouTube or other social media commentary and analysis to go along with it. Allows a lot more depth and time with each episode.

For years and years Argo / JJ railed about how awful TV was. It was all mindless drivel to him (except for college football). Now he’s whining about having to wait to see another episode of their favorite show. What’s changed? The quality of TV, or JJs standards?

I do wait a while for bingeable shows!

I have 5 I’m watching now and watch one of them per day!

The anticipation perspective is like the olde times!

And I do enjoy the shows more!!

I’ve been doing that with season 7 of Bosch on Amazon (great show, btw) it can be agonizing but it gives me something to look forward to each week.

We watch BritBox and Acorn. Most shows are multi-part and we have found that watching an entire series makes more sense as you forget plot lines, especially if watching a week apart.

The reason my wife and I bought our first VCR was because my work involved a lot of travel often taking on days of our favorite shows. We liked to watch them together. We also realized an hour show was closer to 48 minutes.

That and certain movies we didn’t want others to know we watched…

Remember that old AT&T commercial with Tom Selleck where he talked about on-demand viewing? The tag line was something like: Well you will.

Where do you fall on the matter? “Patience is a virtue” (WIlliam Langland), “…the waiting is the hardest part.” (Tom Petty) or ’Anticipation is making me late…" (Carly Simon/Heinz ketchup commercial).

Self control is a good thing. Too many parents never said No to their kids and the children grow up without the ability to say No to themselves.

Many years ago a TV “season” ran 36 weeks or so…at least 36 episodes. Now we’re lucky if a favorite runs more than 5 or 6 episodes.

I asked a friend if he’d checked out a show I thought he’d like (NetFlix’s wonderful The Kominsky Method; he & I are both old farts who started college as theater majors, so I figured it would be as much up his alley as it is mine). He said they’d watched the first 3 episodes of season 3 the night before. I answered “We watched season 3 tonight”.

With TV ‘seasons’ now being as short as 6 episodes it isn’t too difficult to watch an entire season in a couple of evenings, if you choose to do so.
