playing catch with the tide?

It keeps getting away!

Just like a car.

At least it saves him having to throw a stick or a ball or something.

Almost as silly as a cat chasing a laser pointer.

Dog! Master of Frolic! One who CAN appreciate OCEAN. Salty Dog,at yr cervice.

Give him a surfboard, and maybe he’ll catch a wave.

A tidy amount of energy!

Is he a Wolf or a Sandpiper?

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day.

I’m waiting for the sneaker wave to catch Wolf.

Had a treasured Welshie that spend whole beach days barking the waves back into the ocean. Never seemed to tire of it, even when waves caught him in mid bark and left him coughing up sea water. Just shook it off and went back to work. Proud to say the tide never got past the high tide line. Good dog. Been gone since 1984 and still missed.

We did that too!

The tide comes in and the tide goes out, the tide is playing on my snout…

Bring us back some trilobites, hah?

Playing tag with the waves was one of my old dogs favorite beach activities. I tried to teach him to fetch bikinis but the training got us both in trouble.

Well the tide goes in, the tide goes out and tide goes in, the tide goes out. Boring. Someone needs to invent the bikini.

No squirrels at the beach so go with what you have

Ahh, a toy the dog in wolf won’t destroy. He’ll leave that to us.

He is just having fun like all dogs….

I used to have two dogs who were like that. Old English Sheepdogs are good looking dogs, but lordy, are they dumb. We would take them to the park and they’d chase Squirrels. The Squirrels would run up the tree on the left and the dogs would be barking like mad at the tree on the right!! I swear one time the Squirrels stopped half way up and chattered at them as if to say “Uh. . . fellas, we’re over here.”

Cue “The Tide is High” by Blondie.

My dog enjoyed splashing around at the beach well enough, but he hated (was afraid of?) the two inches of foam at the leading edge of the tide. Whether he was heading toward it or it was heading towards him, he’d jump over it so it wouldn’t touch his feet.

Careful pooch, those jellyfish can live forever. Their bite has tentacles.

I have some family films my father took of my then 3 year old sister in about 1945 where she’s doing the same thing. (Originally 8mm, but now on DVD).

Looked like he was gonna get his rear bitten in the first panel.

Now if the wolf could figure out how to get the tide to take the stick out …
