It doesn’t matter where I stand, my paycheck looks small. Especially when you put it next to someone who doesn’t actually GET a real, honest paycheck, but whose “money” works for them. You know, like Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates. Hell, the one time, single in his life Donald Trump received an actual paycheck, he claims to have given it back. Probably because it would have messed up the reporting of all his other so-called tax benefits.
It isn’t going to be inflation per se that raises the prices on agricultural products. The heat domes and droughts, to say nothing of the floods, are going to take a toll. If the food doesn’t grow, it’s not there to be bought—-at any price. 1/3 of the world’s canned tomatoes come from the California central valley. Acres are being plowed under because tomatoes are a water-intensive crop and in the heat and the drought choices have to be made as to what gets water.
Odd thing, for over a year things were shut down, people were isolated, businesses were idled, demand diminished. Suddenly, people could go out, demand increased and shortages happened because supply couldn’t keep up with demand. Prices increased.
But don’t worr, Phil. Because of the Anti-vaxxers, Delta explodes, people may get isolated again, demand decreases, production idles, and prices may go down again.
Typically, inflation comes with a reviving economy. Especially as demand exceeds supply while factories and supply chains recover. Do you not want a revived economy?
Most economists, not being paid by faux news or the GQP, are saying that inflation will calm after the supply chains get back to normal and the federal reserve is saying they expect the current spate of price pressures to fade over time as the economy gets back to normal.
