Piano lessons really struck a chord with Calvin.

I wouldn’t wish Calvin upon any piano teacher.

Just a thought, I wonder if it will be his playground bully nemesis that’s the piano teacher. Maybe that’s why he’s always so angry? Because he secretly hates the piano and would rather be playing the saxophone?

I always liked swimming lessons, but they were at the indoor pool at the Y. Outdoor pools were pretty cold to me.

That poor piano teacher!

Go ahead and make it accordion lessons, mom. Might as well ruin the lives of the rest of us, too.

His baby sitter/ swimming teacher, will be his piano teacher!

How about rock climbing, white water rafting or spelunking? So many hobbies, so little time.

Dance lessons next with girls.

Heard various orchestra instrument on a scratchy 78 record in 6th grade, & wanted to have the ‘flute’ sound. My Uncle who played sax & flute in Jack Benney’s Orchestra came from NY City to visit us in Chatham NJ on Thanksgiving & brought a new solid silver Selmer flute.When I managed to play low C my Uncle was impressed. It was given me on Christmas. From then on it was classical music lessons forever.

Didn’t have piano lessons & had no idea Arpeggios I played on flute were chords. Heard banjos on 45 records in 1951 & wanted that sound. Began playing a $10 tenor banjo in 1951 & later in 1956 a R.I.S.D professional level tenor banjo player classmate taught me ‘circle of 5th’s’ chord structure in ever key. Later played in ‘pick-up’ Dixieland bands. Then heard Pete Seeger when he came to Brown University while I at R.R.S.D. Had to have the 5-string banjo sound. 5 string banjo tuning & playing with finger picks is different from tenor banjo. Then met Eddy Peabody when he was part of a variety show in Kansas city MO. Eddy played plectrum banjo which is similar to a 5-string without the 5th peg.

Now at 85 music is my back do to sanity.

I reiterate: Talk with your kids before signing them up for things.

Calvin, you are the youngest fuddy-duddy ever.

My question is, why does she hate the piano teacher?

Mom has discovered the fact that money will get Calvin out of the house, even if it’s just for a few hours.

How about some politeness lessons.

Gee, I loved piano lessons at age six.

Mom knows she has to let Calvin try a lot of things until something fits. In the meantime the activities keep him busy. But for goodness sakes give him some choices!

C’mon, Calvin, at least you’ll get to stay on dry land — isn’t that what you wanted?

At least Rosalyn will not be there for the piano class.

Drums…Get her back with drums when you turn 16.

You can’t sign a kid up for something they have no interest in. Mom is just trying to get Calvin out of the house during the summer months.

We never had follow up on the piano lessons, did we?

Calvin’s mom is on fire today!

I guess he;ll just have to face the music and get on with it.

Good thing that Calvin’s mom didn’t sign him up for guitar lesson.(I tried the acoustic guitar it’s very hard.)

I guess Bill Waterson never drew about piano lessons, I would like to see it.
