How about letting female players collectively decide their acceptable uniforms, and male players collectively decide their acceptable uniforms.

If they want to play beach volleyball, they have to wear wet bathing suits, with a little sand tossed in.

It’s long past time for female athletes and all others to be respected and not sexualized…. Thanks Jen for showing it so well ;-)

Perhaps time to have the Olympics “wardrobe” go back to the original version… naked.

Agreed Jen! I heard about this issue with a European volleyball league, I thought the Olympics had better standards.

Let’s go back to the ancient days in Greece when the game players were naked.

To make Olympic dress code rules you have to prove your maleness and pass an Evil Old White Guy exam. Disclaimer: I’m an old fat white straight guy. I was a history major so I know what the ancient Greek Olympic competitors wore. I really don’t care what Olympians wear.

Well, we could do it old-school – the ancient Greeks went Full Monty for their Olympics, often with a coating of olive oil, in part because it was a celebration of the human form.

Or we could let people wear what they freaking want to wear. Forcing women to wear REVEALING bikinis when their male equivalents wear shorts is simply open sexism.

P!nk has volunteered to pay their fines, by the way.

Olympics are not about the athletes they’re about the money.

Replies to this should be interesting. Sorry Jen, but in the third panel, women’s behinds are much nicer to look at than men’s behinds. That’s the reasoning behind those rules.

Next, I want go-go girls and pole dancers Olympiads! They’d probably be required to wear NBA shorts… Actually, isn’t it funny to see how short the men’s shorts were in all sports (basket, soccer, etc) in the ’70s… What happened?

Some of the Outfits on the Olympic Women is frankly Ridiculous. American water athletes Men included are a half a inch away from real exposure. I say go for it wear what you want from Burkas to Naked, it’s not like the full body suits worn by some gymnastics teams leave anything to the imagination.

I wondered why female softball players wear such form fitting pants. The men’s pants are not that tight.
