Nobody has been able to explain why a minority has the power to stifle the majority in our supposed democracy. Certainly, the bubble-head from Arizona can’t explain it.

Sinema and Manchin continue to claim that the Dems should not alter the filibuster in any way because the Repubs will then take advantage of it when they are in the majority. I have written to both of them to encourage them to resign in disgrace if the Repubs do take the majority and change the filibuster themselves. Reid changed the filibuster for nominees because of the obstruction for every single nominee from President Obama even though they were rated as “qualified” or even :highly qualified" but exempted SCOTUS picks. McConnell changed that to include SCOTUS and all three of Trump’s picks didn’t meet the “60 vote” threshold.

Support primaring this fool. The Senate doesn’t need a filibuster. The minority rule of a minority legislature makes no sense. The House, the President, and the Courts can still check the Senate.

Point #1 – Filibuster, Ike many rules and laws concerning congress is a double edged sword. These need to be considered from more than one aspect. The thought shouldn’t be “How can we use this” but “If we use it this way is there a way it can be turned around? Can the other side do this or do that, or both?” Instead what happens is one side or the other ends up getting bit in the tush, says “Ooo… I didn’t think of it that way” when what should be said is, “Ooo… I didn’t think.” The rules exist for reasons (more than one).

Point 2 – Like both parties should be thinking, Sinema and Manchin ought to think first of their constituents (they folks that gave them their job. You know, the folks who actually are supposed to be their bosses). Then they should think closely about party unity that leads to common goals for the benefit of all of the nation. Lastly, they should think about their own needs. Both of them have completely reversed that order. Making them much like most of the members of the “conservatives” (whose thoughts and deeds are not about conservatism, but are solely about conserving the reign of Agolf Twitler). None of them (including Sinema and Manchin) are serving the people in the least. It’s only about their image, their ego.

This Repug. in Democrats clothing sure did pull the wool over her constituents eyes. Arizona Democrats no longer feel she represents them and are already looking for her replacement.

Well, in most respects, she’s still better than the alternative, but she could’ve been SO much better.

No need, just win elections. Some 30% of this Nation have always been in opposition to the principles, ideals and values our Founders brought forth. They opposed independence from the Brits. They opposed freeing the slaves. They opposed equal rights, they opposed women’s rights and the vote. They oppose choice, and oppose Freedom of Speech while all the while claiming to ‘love America’.

Most Americans are moderates. They like some of the conservative philosophies and some of the Liberal philosophies. The Republican Party, which began as the Liberal party in the U.S. in 1854 and had a Liberal wing into the 1960s, villainized Liberals under Gingrich, and has since purged almost all the moderates.

Turnabout is fair play. Democrats could use the same playbook. Those moderates should be pursued by the Democrats who offer the ‘big tent’ room for them. conservatives, fascist tRumpsters, conspiracy theorists, racist/bigots are not the only ones who can dominate social media. Nor are they alone in being able to threaten office holders with being primaried. Democrats should help a moderate Republican win a primary against and extremist if only to have a reasonable chance at bi-partisan governing.

We’ve always had a political divide, it’s not new as some try to sell. (Look up Adams and Jefferson) That’s the very nature of a democracy, winners and losers. But when those who lose election oppose and obstruct the very act of governing, they do not serve the Nation. They oppose The United States of America.

Political Power is very addictive, perhaps a War on Addiction to Power education program is needed.

The filibuster is anti-democratic. You can debate its uses and/or history all you want. It doesn’t change the basic fact that the majority doesn’t necessarily rule, which is very anti-democratic.
