If Steve Kelley understood that science is a process (i.e., a verb) and not a thing (i.e., a noun) he would then realize that (new) knowledge sheds light on what we know and how we react to it. Using Kelley’s logic, I hear he won’t take a cruise for fear of falling off the edge of the earth.

Calling it a lie doesn’t make it so. Rand Paul was deliberately misconstruing Fauci’s statement in an attempt to get a “gotcha” moment for his base. It had absolutely nothing to do with any real quest for truth. His questions were given in bad faith, and the clearest proof of that is that he didn’t want to even let Fauci answer; the answers weren’t important. He just wanted televisable moments of himself sticking it to Fauci, because for some idiotic reason the GOP decided the most important thing about the pandemic was how they could use it to get more votes.

I really don’t know why I bother with Kelley. Well maybe because I can compare his stupidity to others of his ilk. Sigh.

I didn’t get to hear much of Fauci’s testimony because every time he tried to speak, Rand Paul interrupted him.

Fauci, his investors, and Beijing teamed up to make some big profits off of cheap Chinese labor, but wound up killing 4 million people. Oh well, that’s end-stage capitalism.

The USA is sick and tired of deadly right wing nonsense.

Ignoramuses such as Mr. Kelley seem to believe that scientific knowledge and evidence are static, that what we know today we knew last year or the year before. As we learn more about how COVID-19 behaves, and the relative infectivity and virulence of its variants, we must adjust our behaviors to avoid transmission, infection and death. Vaccines are a huge part of these defensive actions, but not the only ones. Virology isn’t simple, despite what Mr. Kelley thinks or wants.

That which can be supposed without proof can be dismissed without evidence.
