The first handful of astronauts were greeted as above. After that, not so much.

He’s already bragging about a $100 million in sales by passengers for future flights. But yeah, this is all about ideology, patriotism, and scientific accomplishments according to their propaganda.

You may leave here for four days in space

But when you return, it’s the same old place

So it’s better to spend billions of tax payer’s money then billions of one own money? Odd sort of idea.

Reflects how private business (in the U.S.) has taken over the government’s role in reaching space…

In 1962 I remember the ticker tape parade for John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth. Later went to the Seattle’s World Fair in 1962 and got to see the “Friendship 7”. I’m sure John Glenn paid income taxes and taxpayers were happy to think the money was well spent. In 2021 we put a billionaire in space who doesn’t pay income taxes so he could well afford to pay the costs. Times have changed.

Bezos and his group were much less than astronauts as payload.

A person must be either very desperate, or a republican to work for him. Bezo’s, like the French nobles before the Revolution, lives the high life in full view to his underpaid, overworked bladder-bursting employees!

He’s no more an astronaut than a package on a Fedex flight is the pilot.

Space, because a 200 foot yacht is not enough.
