You have missed the statement of irony here notice how the point of view in the last panel has pulled back, showing Tiffany all alone, and she is saying what a bunch of pathetic losers.

She could have been doing any one of those things if she wasn’t always waiting at her dad’s beck and call. Forget him, kid. He’ll always disappoint you. Find your own life away from him. Just keep his money.

Time to call Ox.

I called it yesterday.

Looks like the pool is leaking. The water level is down about 6 to 8 inches from yesterday, and the tiles are now visible. Better get that leak fixed before all the water is gone and someone falls in and gets hurt.

What droll irony is Tiffany’s final comment. She can get other folks together, but her life is more sterile than Luann.s!

That is pretty much what happens at 20, and even at 18. Everyone is busy doing their own thing.

Yeah, people have lives out there and do not necessarily have the time to lounge around a swimming pool. And they need to plan in advance for a party. If you wish to have a pool party, go ahead and plan it and text a Save The Date message. Not everyone will come – you know, people have jobs and other commitments. That’s the middle class for you Tiff.

You can’t always count on your friends Tif. Learn to enjoy being alone.

Sorry Tiffany, but these events need to be planned well in advance to work. However, I’m sure Luann isn’t among the people she sent that text. Maybe now she’ll try to text to her, just to see, and Luann will come. Or she could try to text to Gunther and he will innocently come, without imagining that this could start a big fight with his very jealous girlfriend.

Luann could bring Tara. That might get interesting.

Actually my foreboding is the outcome so far. She is alone, in the big, lonely mansion and can’t even get friends over for a pool party. Those responses can correspond to Luann (babysitting), Bets and Gunther (date), Dez (garden), Bern and Nil (date), Bern or Gunther (class), but even if they don’t correspond to any Luannverse characters we know this is a cruel irony. She calls all her “friends” losers when she is the ultimate loser. Very sad. Hope some salvation comes tomorrow, or Monday. Otherwise poor little rich girl.

I feel sorry for Tiffany. So lonely. Poor little rich girl.

She really isn’t liked at all. What a change from the early days when all the boys at least liked her. I love swimming and big houses so I’d probably go. Really Tiffany isn’t as bad as in the early strip.

They went from people she wants to spend an afternoon with, to “pathetic losers” in a heartbeat.

I’d just take her father’s ticket and go to have a blast in Maui!!! Why take anyone at all? How often can you do that?

For someone who lately has been caring and helpful to friends, her comment is out of sync. It’s more like something the old Tiffany would say. Maybe and hopefully she’ll get inspired to get back to work (isn’t the Kafé open?) or help in the garden again.

Tiffany, everyone is busy living their lives. You need to go get one.

Give her a chance folks (retract the claws); she’s on a learning curve and this is no 1 week arc. It’s all still part of the immediate disappointment that Tiff is reacting to. But time worn problems don’t have instant solutions. Tiff has figured herself out of a problem before, two steps forward 1 step back. The issue of friends and how to use time is a biggy but I ‘m hopeful that she’ll come around this time too.

That algae in the pool could be dangerous.

So unless everyone shows up tomorrow for a surprise pool party this week is going to end on a downer. In much the way that every story about Bernice gets tangled up in her insecurities and neuroses. And every story points out that she has no life. Where’s the fun, the frolic, ,the ambitions of 18 to 20 year olds. Luann is really turning into a bummer.
