>> The time between when the carrier becomes infectious and when it becomes obvious that (he)‘s a carrier is about two weeks. That’s WAY too long for most people to feel the connection, so we need to act based on knowledge and logic. Not humanity’s best thing.
>> MOST people who get infected don’t die, and SOME of them don’t even notice… though an increasing number of them are turning out to have “long haul” problems. So we need to act based on the greater good of everybody … which is not humanity’s best thing.
It is waaay past time for the professional medical community, and for government officials responsible for national/state/local health policy, to finally realize that avoidable deaths and severe disease outcomes resulting from SARS-Covid-19 are unlikely to be mitigated by appeals to prevent surges of — and opportunity for mutations resistant (and possibly in future impervious) to — this and future deadly virus(es) with “recommendations” to vaccinate/mask/social distance.
Insistence on “respecting” individual “choice” to vaccinate/mask/social distance to prevent awful lingering death experience, and nearly as awful brief and/or long-term ill effects from this virus is entirely insufficient as health policy because, unlike for example polio, there are few if any victims of Covid walking around in public exhibiting visible evidence of its ill effects. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to counter social media mis/disinformation about personal responsibility for the negative health outcomes people experience as a direct result of the choices others make not to vaccinate/mask/social distance.
Anti-vax/anti-mask “patriots” are able to tell themselves that their behavior has no impact on overwhelmed hospital human resources/equipment availability (often in too short supply for the number of emergency victims, many of whom die or suffer permanent lung/brain damage as a result); on the frail vaccinated they may infect whom Covid finishes of prematurely; on those physically unable to vaccinate, through no fault of their own, due to a number of personal individual health factors; and they either do not comprehend or refuse to believe this virus exists and, like all viruses, will continuously evolve — improving its prospects for existence each time — until deprived of host environment: an unvaccinated population.
It will be necessary to reach this group of the human population by appealing to the only thing the virus negatively affects that they can readily recognize and (if only vaguely) comprehend:
Their economic interests/well-being.
The most likely potentially successful strategy to reach the “rugged individualist” “freedom loving” “patriot” segment of the population who adamantly refuse vaccination/masking/distancing is to emphasize the potential, and highly likely, negative financial outcomes their deeply flawed perceptions leads to.
Boris Donald Trump Johnson, among other national leaders and leaders of USA states, are implementing a direct laboratory experiment with the delta variant (and potentially others which presently exist) and its 4x infectious spread rate. Businesses opening up, and other social gathering sites as well, could — may already be — super spreader sites. Massive lock-downs may loom in the extremely near future. The short and long term negative financial impacts … we don’t wanna go there, as a nation and world economy.
i’ve flagged johnhbaggett for spreading dangerous lies and although i don’t ever do this, i’ll make an exception in this case and encourage others to do the same. because this is life and death, not just a matter of some fool’s opinion…

Alas.

But headed there we are.

Everybody please flag the troll. Covid19 vaccine disinformation is malevolent and dangerous and needs to be flagged for review/deletion/deplatforming.
