So true. I’ve often compared our Covid vaccine problem now with the Polio vaccine situation decades ago. But, back then, the only source of any info was via radio or a few TV networks. Now, with social media, and cable broadcasts we can have all points of view, many of them bad. I was amazed when a antivaxxer stated he would not be getting the vaccine until it was proven to be safe. How much more proof does one need than to be signed off on by both the FDA and CDC as well as the successful vaxxing of 150 million citizens.
I’m convinced the Repugnicants spread COVID misinformation and prevent positive legislation is because they want the country to be in the worst possible condition when the 2022 and 2024 elections are held. The longer the pandemic rules our lives the more they can blame the Democrats.
I am glad I have gotten vaccinated when I did. My hope is that this Delta variant will bring at least some (if not most) of the vax hesitant off the fence and encourage them to get vaccinated. I am an optimist by nature, so I believe that in time most of the hesitant will get vaccinated. Particularly if they see their unvaxxed friends and/or family members get seriously ill from Covid. Reason eventually penetrates all but the absolute thickest of skulls. We likely won’t get the hard core anti vaxxers vaxxed up, but it’s on them. I don’t believe in forcing vaccines on people, but if the anti vaxxers end up eating their own it’s on them.
