Nowadays parents can log on to the parent portal at their children’s school/s and see the student’s grades test by test and assignment by assignment almost instantly. Assuming the teacher grades and enters the assignments. Teachers are also expected to generate a professional quality website along with the rest of their burden.

And now even the light bulbs have been changed.

One of my pet peeves about tech: “Here’s this new thing (platform, portal, whatever) that you need to use immediately.” No instructions, no clear indication of how to get it to work, just figure it out on your own and hope you don’t mess up things completely in the attempt.

You’re lucky to have tech support because Windows has become horribly bloated and there is no manual like there used to be. To use Windows effectively you really need to take their Administrator Course.

If you had to give up your computer, and go back to doing presentations via slides on an overhead projector, you’d be pretty upset pretty quickly…

Speaking as a student who had to work with both projectors and computers…I can’t say I miss the projector much
