Now that’s being proactive: Straight to the impossibly posh offices of Vera Alldid to get the real scoop. Unfortunately, the assistant isn’t of much assistance, but I see that Peanutbutter is still eating peanut butter sandwiches. Some things you never grow out of.

You’ll be happy to know that I have nothing bad to say about the strip today. My heart just isn’t into it.

Bugboy has suffered a setback but my money is on a rally followed by a rout. I think that last panel remark set the challenge. He’s not Dick Tracy. He’s bettah den Tracy !

Isn’t it convenient that this guy just happens to live in the same city as Alldid’s office? Good thing he doesn’t live in Alaska or a foreign country.

He went to the source and came away empty. Probably smirked and laughed when the other person said who do you think you are…Dick Tracy? At least Tracy gets an honorable mention.

I know we’ve been giving The Mad Colorist grief about the skin tone of our mystery person, but allow me some idle speculation, presented in the interest of good will and fairness…

What if this ISN’T Peanutbutter? I know we’ve all speculated that it’s him, but please examine Panel 1. This “shadowy” fellow appears to be TALLER than P.B.

Is it possible that Peanutbutter has an assistant, and that Peanutbutter could be who he is talking to on the phone in Panel 3?

Or maybe he’s not an assistant, but simply a fan of both Peanutbutter’s and Vera Alldid’s comics?

If any of the above turns out to be the case, we may owe T.M.C. a slight (not a complete) apology…!

That name is as big as Vera’s ego.

While this is not officially a „crossover“ arc, the return of all these ancient, long since abandoned characters gives it the feel of a crossover.

And with Honeymoon already involved, can Annie be far behind?

Sorry, you know as much as we do except we also know he left a note on his schedule saying he & Mysta were going to the secluded estate of billionaire Archival right before he mysteriously disappeared but we’re sure it doesn’t mean anything.

(Peanutbutter) found out nothing at the lavish studio/office of Vera Alldid. But his online buddy gives him a nudge toward Dick Tracy; maybe he’ll say to himself “yeah; why not?” and contact Tracy.

In other words, Peanutbutter could be the catalyst for an actual police investigation, rather than Honeymoon, or Sam’s curiosity. We shall see….
