You’re never too old for an education. That’s our message for today.

Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring school!

Most kids in summer camp are glad they aren’t in summer school. Although I’ve known some who would prefer summer school. Not sure if that says more about the kid or the camp.

Apparently we have a police culture where “protect and serve” actually means "protect (yourself at all cost) and serve (only those citizens who have the resources to cause trouble if you don’t act within the bounds of law and decency).

Imagine if our firefighters were that selfish and cowardly.

Police are not there to protect and serve. They are there to enforce the laws. These ideas often overlap, but not always. Laws should be enforced equally for all. And I do mean all: rich, poor, healthy, sick, old, young, and of course, skin color, and even being a part of the police. No one gets to be above the law. Or below it.

That is funny in a sad way.

I still find it astounding that his response to hearing “a kid is scared of cops” is to drive all the way out there to lecture them. Like all that does is tell the kid “never criticize us or we’ll find you”
