Reminds me of the joke about two idiots on opposite sides of a lake at night.

One turns on a flashlight and points it at the other. “C’mon—cross by walking across the light! It’ll be safe!” said the first.

“No way!’ said the second. “You’ll just turn off the flashlight when I’m halfway and I’ll fall in.”
