How ’bout a totally white rural neighborhood filled with morbidly obese people who spontaneously break into big racist rants and shout praises of Drump and JAY-SUS. I keep trying to sell my place and get away, but the property values keep falling.
There was a moment, while we were having dinner at a bar and restaurant, in the summer of 2012, that a catchy popular song started playing and everyone started singing along … there was a wonderful feeling of community that we felt for the rest of the day. Now it’s a pleasant memory and though we’ve been back to that restaurant, that moment has passed.
“Sure, it’s diverse! We have Cubans AND Dominicans, and both kinds of Ricans (Puerto and Costa). We even have a Black guy, so we have excuse to speak English.”
(OK, cheap shot. I thought “In the Heights” was very good, even though Miranda’s characters all talk/sing too fast for me to follow everything, just like in “Hamilton.”)

So, if you’re about classics, you should run away and join a traveling opera. Otherwise, a traveling musical.

Sounds like a neighborhood I’d like to visit, but not sure I’d want to live there. ;)

It was worth the price of admission to see Jimmy Smits dance. Too bad the theatre was 1/2 full on a hot Saturday afternoon.

A boy like that, he kill your brother, forget that boy and find another
One of your own kind, find one of your own kind…
When you’re a Jet,
You’re a Jet all the way
From your first cigarette
To your last dyin’ day.
When you’re a Jet,
If the spit hits the fan,
You got brothers around,
You’re a family man.
You’re never alone,
You’re never disconnected.
You’re home with your own—
When company’s expected,
You’re well protected!
My daddy beats my mommy,
My mommy clobbers me.
My grandpa is a Commie,
My grandma pushes tea.
My sister wears a mustache,
My brother wears a dress.
Goodness gracious, that’s why I’m a mess!
A-RAB: (As Psychiatrist) Yes!
Officer Krupke, you’re really a slob.
This boy don’t need a doctor, just a good honest job.
Society’s played him a terrible trick,
And sociologic’ly he’s sick!
