Nothing is ever the same. But yeah: Attitude is part of how you “believe” that it’s a vacation.

I get all my routine work done by 8:30 in the morning (I start at about 7). By the time I’m having my second cup of coffee and my wife is getting up, I’m done and we have the day at the beach to ourselves.

They have jobs? They live in a beach house? My deepest sympathies, I am sure.

I worked with my hands and mind, repairing very high tech equipment, no stress. Good pay, really enjoyed the work which ment that my days went by quickly. I had planned to retire when I was 55.(man plans and god laughs) on the job injury led to medical retirement when I was 48. 24 years ago. There are never enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do. Plus I am making more in retirement than I did when I was working. Life is good.

I don’t like sand in my keyboard (neither does the keyboard…).

I must be doing this work-from-home thing wrong… my bosses have been expecting 24/7 access to my time since remote work started, and expecting me to provide all of my office needs – both amped up over when I went to the office.

My home office had a great view of the Salish Sea/Straits of Georgia whatever you call the water between the island and the mainland. All I know is the doggos wanted to go and play in it this morning.
