She has a point. Besides the one right in the middle of her forehead: Why DOES the US oppose allowing the ICC to examine what has been done in the middle east?
What is disagreeable and absurd is how you and the other commenter above can find ways to excuse and try to make her outrageous behaviour and speeches acceptable.
Is this the same cartoonist that thinks Trump won the 2020 Presidential Election, but Biden stole it from him ? If so, Omar is not the one who’s “Bananas”.
I will agree that she has her issues, but I feel that it would be a more fair comparison of her up against MTG, Boebert, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Louis Gohmert, Matt Gaetz or Gym Jordan. Their elevators are not even getting up to the basement.
It’s not surprising to me that the RW commenters agree so whole heartedly with Ramirez despite his intentional misinterpretation. While I’m not a big fan of hers, what Omar said was “We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.” So the US military and contractors have never committed atrocities? Never killed civilians in the absence of enemy military? You want Vietnam and Desert Storm examples? The difference is that Israel and the US do not support such activities as methods for winning wars while Hamas and the Taliban leadership seem to view them as viable tactics. She did not deny that difference. (And Hamas criticized her for comparing them to Israel, so I guess you read into it what you want.)
Her follow up was this – “To be clear: the conversation was about accountability for specific incidents regarding those [International Criminal Court] cases, not a moral comparison between Hamas and the Taliban and the U.S. and Israel,” she wrote in a press release. She added: “I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems.” Again, if you read her first statement dispassionately, you get what she means without the clarification.
Having a different view about what a politician says is one thing. That’s opinion and legitimate. Deliberately misquoting, twisting her words is something entirely different. That’s lying and isn’t legitimate. Or respectable.
If one were to actually read what Ilhan Omar said, she was asking for justice for the victims of war, be they Israelis, Afghanis, Palestinians or others. She did NOT make the false equivalency of Americans, Israelis, Hamas and the Taliban. But such intellectual niceties don’t set well for simple minds, or cartoonists.
I wonder how many people really think that OMAR is so CONCERNED about our CONSTITUTION and DEMOCRACY, when it COLLIDES with her BELIEFS AND PHILOSOPHIES?

Nuts = Empty Greene. (I know we are not talking about her because she isn’t making any points to ponder.)

Much as I largely disagree with what she said, I find this cartoon even more disagreeable.

Each party has its outliers. Is Omar fruitier than Greene? Gohmert? Gaetz? The list goes on…

And yet, Ramirez gives credence to Greene, Boebert, Gohmert, Gaetz, ad nauseum.

I believe what she is saying is there is enough sin to go around. No one is innocent.

Once again, Ramirez’s message is as clear as mud AND it covers the ground!

The US and Israel are NOT like Hamas and the Taliban.
They are people without power, forced to commit unlawful acts of terrorism to gain power.
The US and Israel are strong and powerful. We commit our acts of terrorism legally. Because its us who says so.
